iScanner 1.4.1 Moving foward, but you can go back.
I have submitted iScanner 1.4.1 to iTunes. It fixes a few problems.
1. Fixed an issue in which the Decibel Level doesn’t display the correct level.
2. Fixed an issue in which the Magnetometer’s reading goes beyond tolerant levels.
3. Fixed a GUI issue in which the Library B text would gray out when buttons J or K would be pressed.
4. Added a feature in the Settings App to go back to the original interface from 1.3.
Yes, I cried myself to sleep on several occasions because some people didn’t like the new interface. Lucky for some of you I am a pack-rat and kept the old interface skin. So those of you who enjoyed the original interface can jump right back to it and still keep the new features.
Can I get 5 stars for customer service?

I like the original interface better because it didn’t use pink or baby blue colored lights. They just don’t look right on SciFi controls. So thank you for allowing me the option of getting the old screen back.
I am still having issues with my 3G iPhone’s GPS and microphone working correctly with the new library mode 4 screens. The Lat and Long info doesn’t change as I move around. and the decibels don’t change no matter how loud the sound is near my iPhone. Are these suppose to change with the screens open? They only seem to randomly change when I switch between the screens.
Hey thanks Kevin! No the screens don’t auto-update as you move around. They are static until they are ‘refreshed’ by moving off the screen and then back on. I did this to keep the iScanner fast, to lower the consumption of battery power, and to prevent hangs because the iPhone is constantly trying to access the hardware.
When my friends and I were testing 1.4 we found it much more efficient to turn auto update off. We noticed that iScanner would take up to 10 seconds to switch between the screens. I could have put a “Loading” screen on each of the new ones, but I felt that it took away from the experience. I do have the code for auto update still in there, those methods are just sleeping.
I do fully intend on waking those methods up in a future release.
One more thing. Now with the original interface you can’t turn off the red light on the “INT” button after pressing it.
In 1.3 did it turn off? I can’t remember. I didn’t think it did. But no biggy, I can fix that in 1.4.2. I just noticed that in the 1.4.1 Original Interface, there is some strange blocks in the background.
The new interface is great, especially the addition of the scanning bar on top. Awesome detail work.
One thing though, the Met screen in the first set of library screens, is it possible to fix semi-circle lines 6 and 7 from the bottom? You see how 6 is too close to 5 on the left side? It has been bugging me since the first release.
Too nit-picky?
Whoa! I have never noticed that! Good eye. Sadly shortly after the first version, I lost my animation master for the original 3 screens. However, I feel, those need to be updated and ‘refreshed’. Feel up to the challenge?
Uh, yeah.
